German-Italian Master LL.M. (Cologne / Florence)

The Law Faculty of the University of Cologne, together with the Faculty of Law of the Università degli di Studi di Firenze, offers an eight-semester Bachelor's degree program in German and Italian law, which is unique in Germany so far. A joint one-year Master's program is being established on this binational degree program, which will be opened in the winter semester of 2018/19. The program is completed with a Joint Degree Master of Laws (LL.M. Cologne / Firenze). The achievements of the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses are credited to the five-year study course of the Italian Laurea Magistrale in Giurisprudenza, so that students can simultaneously acquire the Italian legal degree.

The students will complete their first semester at the University of Cologne and the second semester at the Università degli Studi di Firenze. During the semester in Cologne they will attend lectures in the fields of tax and accounting law, international private law, international and European law and procedural law of both jurisdictions. In the second semester, the comparative law master's thesis has to be written. The master's program is currently being accredited. Its founders and program officers are Professor Dres. Mansel, Cologne, Caponi and Cappellini, both in Florence.
